Here is the book you need--Kurtz, Moynihan's Introduction to the Law of Real Property. This is the book I frequently consult when preparing for class. I think it will help you during this part of the course.
The current edition is the 8th edition, but any edition from 4th to 8th will help you understand the traditional common law of estates and future interests. There should be some copies on reserve in the library. You may be able to pick up a cheap copy of an earlier edition on ebay or Thriftbooks.
Don't buy it new (it's expensive: $75) unless you have money to spare. The library's copies should be sufficient.
