Lake Tahoe Case

Suppose the President asks Congress to impose a 32-month moratorium on speech criticizing the Administration's foreign policy.

Should this temporary restriction on freedom of speech be considered a violation of the First Amendment?

What about a 32-month moratorium on abortions? On the protections against unreasonable searches by the police?

Other than Regulatory Takings protections, are there any other constitutional rights that you believe should be unprotected against temporary restrictions and abridgments? Which? Why or why not?

All rights are temporary, aren't they? As Justice Thomas put it in his dissent, "[a]fter all, in the long run we are all dead."
